JANJGIR-CHAMPA,INDIA: The Janjgir-Champa district headquarters of Chhattisgarh now boasts a state-of-the-art sports complex, joining the ranks of major cities with modern sports facilities. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday inaugurated the sports complex, marking a significant milestone for sports enthusiasts and players in the region.
Constructed at a cost of ₹3 crore, the sports complex offers facilities for a variety of sports, including cricket, football, skating, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and lawn tennis. Additionally, the complex features a box cricket area, a specially designed grass football field, and an impressive running track for athletic competitions.
During the inauguration, Sai emphasized the importance of such infrastructure in nurturing local talent. He noted that the complex will provide athletes an opportunity to develop their skills and compete on national and international stages.
Sai also participated in a cricket session at the players' request, further motivating them with his presence.
Prasidh Sharma, a student from Kendriya Vidyalaya Janjgir, presented a hand-drawn portrait to the Chief Minister, adding a personal touch to the ceremony.
