RAIPUR,INDIA: Conservation of water, a vital natural resource, is the collective responsibility of all, emphasized Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at the 57th annual convention of the Indian Water Works Association in Raipur on Friday.

Addressing the gathering, Sai highlighted the urgency of preserving water amidst a global crisis marked by declining groundwater levels and increasing scarcity.

The Chief Minister stressed the need for effective water management to secure a sustainable future for upcoming generations. "Every drop of water matters. In the face of a global climate crisis, the importance of water conservation has never been greater," he stated. Sai also praised the central government’s initiatives, including the Jal Jeevan Mission, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Amrit Sarovar, and Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana, which have been pivotal in providing clean drinking water and improving health and living standards in rural Chhattisgarh.

Sai acknowledged the role of innovative technologies in addressing water-related challenges, urging collective efforts toward water management and source rejuvenation. During the event, he released a souvenir commemorating the contributions of the Indian Water Works Association.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao, addressing the convention, highlighted the importance of collaborative discussions among engineers and experts to develop strategic approaches to water conservation. He expressed hope that the deliberations at the convention would yield actionable insights for sustainable water management.

The convention, themed "Water-360 Degree," is being hosted in Raipur from January 10 to 12, marking its second occurrence in the state capital. It has attracted 400 water experts and engineers from across the country. Key discussions will focus on incorporating innovative technologies for water conservation, wastewater treatment, and sustainable water resource management.
