CG: BJP holds meeting for civic body polls

RAIPUR,INDIA: A crucial meeting of the Raipur West Assembly was held at the BJP District Office, Ekatm Complex, under the leadership of MLA Rajesh Munat. The gathering was attended by senior BJP leaders, including Raipur District President Ramesh Singh Thakur, along with party workers.

During the meeting, preparations for the upcoming municipal body elections were discussed in detail. MLA Rajesh Munat congratulated Ramesh Singh Thakur on his recent appointment as District President, as well as the newly elected Mandal Presidents. He emphasized the importance of ensuring BJP candidates win all 20 wards in the elections.

Munat pointed out that this time, the mayor will be elected through a direct system, and the post has been reserved for women under the general category. He urged party members to work diligently, stating, “We must not only secure victories for our councilors but also ensure Raipur gets a BJP mayor."

In his address to party workers, Munat highlighted the BJP's consistent efforts to oppose what he described as a corrupt Congress government. He noted the significant victories achieved in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections and called for similar efforts in the urban body polls. He assured workers that the organization would choose the best candidates and urged everyone to unite to ensure the victory of the party’s ‘Lotus’ symbol.

District President Ramesh Singh Thakur spoke about the need for coordination between the BJP’s organizational structure and governance. He highlighted the responsibility of ensuring good governance and implementing welfare schemes for the benefit of the people.

Raipur Municipal Corporation Leader of Opposition Meenal Choubey took a sharp dig at Congress and Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, calling him “the most ineffective Mayor in the city’s history." She alleged widespread corruption by Dhebar’s family members during his tenure and accused him of neglecting Raipur's development.

“The people of Raipur had to endure a mayor who failed to deliver for five years. Now is the time to work together and transform Raipur,” Choubey said. She urged party workers to rally behind the BJP's candidates to ensure a sweeping victory in the upcoming municipal elections.

The meeting concluded with a strong resolve to strengthen the BJP’s presence in Raipur and work towards securing the party’s success in the urban body elections.
