CG: Integrated development essential for Chhattisgarh's growth: CM

RAIPUR,INDIA: Highlighting the strides made under the state government, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the need for balanced rural and urban development for Chhattisgarh's overall growth. Addressing the 'Sopan of Urban Development' program at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium, he outlined the government's achievements and initiatives over the past 13 months.

The Chief Minister stated, "With the blessings of Lord Shri Ram, Chhattisgarh is advancing rapidly toward becoming a developed state. Our government is dedicated to improving the living standards of all citizens, enhancing infrastructure, sanitation, drinking water, and healthcare in both urban and rural areas."

He laid foundation stone for 813 projects worth ₹155.38 crore, with 70 projects worth ₹15.25 crore inaugurated. He also

launched water supply schemes under Amrit Mission-2.0 in six urban areas, benefiting over 20,000 households.

Approval of 353 posts for compassionate appointments; 103 appointment letters were distributed. The honorarium for over 9,000 Swachhta Didis increased from ₹7,200 to ₹8,000. Under Housing for All, he said approval of 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and additional 3 lakh houses sanctioned for the next financial year. Survey for Pradhan Mantri Awas 2024 Plus Scheme underway, extending eligibility to those with moderate assets or incomes up to ₹15,000 per month.

Over ₹10,000 distributed to five lakh landless labourers under the Deendayal Upadhyay Landless Workers Scheme, while monthly assistance of ₹1,000 credited to accounts of women beneficiaries, bolstering their financial independence.

Sai commended urban bodies like Raipur, Ambikapur, and Dongargarh for their exemplary efforts in the Clean Toilet Campaign and Swachh Bharat Mission. He lauded Swachhta Didis for their dedication, which has been instrumental in the state’s cleanliness drive.

Acknowledging the ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, the Chief Minister announced arrangements for Chhattisgarh pilgrims, including accommodation, meals, and transport.

"Our government's initiatives embody the vision of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.' Together, we are building a prosperous Chhattisgarh," concluded Sai.
