CG: Tricolor hoisted for first time in 26 villages of Bastar Division

RAIPUR,INDIA: The 76th Republic Day celebrations in Bastar division were historic, marking the first time that the tricolor was hoisted in 26 villages that were once under the control of Naxalites. These villages, previously living in fear and terror, have now embraced peace and development, thanks to the success of the Naxal eradication campaign led by the Chhattisgarh government.

The campaign, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has created a new environment of security and trust in these areas. Over the past year, 26 security centres have been established in remote and Naxal-affected regions, helping to restore peace and order. The villages in Bijapur, Sukma, Narayanpur, and Kanker districts, which were once strongly influenced by Naxalites, have now found hope in the government’s efforts.

On Republic Day, the national flag was hoisted by police, security forces, and local villagers at these newly established security centres. The importance of Republic Day was discussed, and celebrations included distributing sweets, chocolates to children, and other materials.

The security camps were set up in various villages such as Gundam, Futkel, Chutwahi, Kondapalli, Zidpalli, and others in Bijapur, Narayanpur, Sukma, and Kanker districts. These centres have not only enhanced security but also fostered development in these areas.

Inspector General of Police for Bastar Range, Sundarraj P., praised the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government and security forces in bringing peace and democracy to the region. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma hoisted the national flag at the main Republic Day event in Jagdalpur, acknowledging the success of the Naxal eradication campaign and the ongoing security and development efforts in Bastar division.
