Chhattisgarh achieves record paddy procurement over 149 lakh MT

RAIPUR,INDIA: Chhattisgarh has once again achieved a record-breaking paddy procurement in this Kharif season. As per data received until 6:45 PM on the last day of procurement, over 149 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased across the state. 

A total of 25.49 lakh registered farmers have sold their paddy, receiving a cumulative payment of ₹31,089 crore through the bank-linking system. Notably, last year, the state procured 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.

Officials from the Food Department stated that along with procurement, paddy lifting for custom milling is progressing rapidly. So far, DO (Delivery Orders) and TO (Transport Orders) have been issued for lifting 121 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, out of which 100 lakh metric tonnes have already been transported.

The state government has registered 27.78 lakh farmers for paddy procurement the Kharif season, including 1.59 lakh newly registered farmers.

The achievement highlights Chhattisgarh’s continued commitment to supporting farmers and strengthening its agricultural economy.
