CG: HNLU-CG Police complete two batches of advanced training on New Criminal Laws

RAIPUR,INDIA: The third phase of the Capacity Building Program on New Criminal Law Reforms for Chhattisgarh Police Officers, organized by Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) in collaboration with the Chhattisgarh Police, concluded its second batch on Friday at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose State Police Academy, Chandkhuri, Raipur.

The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, who emphasized the role of technology in crime investigation, evidence collection, and law enforcement. He highlighted the importance of integrating legal knowledge with practical training and reiterated HNLU’s commitment to similar future programs.

Dr. Ratan Lal Dangi, Director of the Police Academy, encouraged officers to implement their learnings and train their subordinates. Dr. Abhishek Pallava, Superintendent of Police, underscored the significance of updating legal knowledge for effective policing.

The 10-day training program featured sessions by HNLU faculty, Supreme Court and High Court advocates, prosecution officers, and retired judicial officers. Officers participated in practical exercises, case study-based role-plays, and discussions on the new criminal laws. The first batch of training was conducted from January 20th to 24th , while the second batch took place from January 27th to 31st, 2025.

Officers who performed exceptionally well in the investigation-based role-play exercises were felicitated. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Registrar of HNLU, who acknowledged all contributors.

The initiative is part of a MoU signed between HNLU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Vivekanandan and DGP Ashok Juneja, in the presence of Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister and senior officials. The collaboration aims to train over 1,000 police officers through programs of 2, 3, and 5-day formats.
