Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company wins five National Safety Awards

RAIPUR,INDIA: Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Limited has been honored with five prestigious awards by the Union Directorate General of the Ministry of Labor and Employment for maintaining high safety standards in the operation of the Gare Palma mine.

Congratulating the officials and employees, Subodh Kumar Singh, President of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies, praised the team’s commitment to safety, calling it a reflection of their dedication and awareness.

The Annual Mine Safety Fortnight, organized by the Union Ministry of Labor and Employment, assesses the maintenance and performance of mines. The concluding and prize distribution ceremony for the 2024 edition was held in Bishrampur, where Gare Palma Sector 3 Coal Mine secured multiple awards across various categories. It won first place in overall Group E (for mines with a production capacity between 3 to 5 million tonnes), first in engineering excellence, and first in safety management planning. The mine also secured second place in dust suppression, illumination, and explosives management. Additionally, its exhibition and stall display were awarded second prize.

For the fourth consecutive year, Gare Palma Sector 3 Coal Mine has won the top honor in the overall Group E category, reaffirming its commitment to safety.

Managing Director of the Generation Company, S.O. Katiyar, and Executive Director M.R. Bagde presented the awards to Subodh Kumar Singh. Acknowledging the achievement, Singh emphasized that safety remains the top priority in operations and assured continued efforts to maintain a secure working environment for miners.

Katiyar also highlighted the company’s commitment to high safety standards, stating that the dedication of officers and employees will ensure sustained excellence in the future.
