CG: Eclectika’25 begins with enthusiasm at NIT Raipur

RAIPUR,INDIA: NIT Raipur’s Sanskriti - The Cultural Committee inaugurated Eclectika’25, Central India’s largest annual cultural fest, with a grand ceremony. The three-day festival was organized under the leadership of Dr. Nitin Jain, Dean (Student Welfare).

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. A.B. Soni, Director (I/c), as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. P.Y. Dhekne, Registrar, and other Deans as special guests. Faculty members, including Dr. Lata S.B. Upadhyay, Faculty-in-Charge of Sanskriti Club, and students were also in attendance. The event began with a traditional lamp lighting and sapling ceremony, setting the tone for the celebration.

Dr. Nitin Jain, in his address, expressed excitement about the event and emphasized its role in nurturing artistic talents. Dr. S. Sanyal spoke about how such festivals contribute to students' personal and professional growth, while Dr. Samir Bajpai stressed the importance of resource optimization in organizing large-scale cultural events.

Dr. P.Y. Dhekne encouraged students to actively participate and make the most of the festival. Dr. Shrish Verma, Dean (Academics), reflected on the origins of Eclectika and how it evolved into a major cultural fest over the years. He also shared insights into the inspiration behind the name Eclectika.

Declaring the festival open, Dr. A.B. Soni congratulated the Sanskriti team for their dedication in organizing the event. He wished all participants success and encouraged them to adopt a competitive spirit. The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks from the Head Coordinator of Team Sanskriti.

The first day of Eclectika’25 saw enthusiastic participation in various competitions and activities. The music band competition, ‘Avirbhaav,’ featured teams from different colleges, delivering captivating performances. Team Raga from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya won the competition, while another team from the same university secured the runner-up position. The stand-up comedy competition, ‘Tafri,’ also witnessed energetic participation, with The English Theatre emerging as the winner and Harsh Sahil Minj as the runner-up.

The atmosphere on campus was vibrant, filled with energy and excitement. The highlight of the day was Artist Night, where renowned singers Laqshay Kapoor and Anshika Pandey mesmerized the audience with their performances, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
