RAJIM,INDIA: Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka highlighted the spiritual significance of Rajim, a revered confluence of the Mahanadi, Parry, and Sondhur rivers.
He emphasized that Rajim Kumbh Kalpa stands as a testament to the region’s rich religious and cultural heritage, promoting faith, unity, harmony, and the preservation of age-old traditions.
He graced the event as the chief guest of the 15-day spiritual gathering. During the opening ceremony, the governor, along with saints and other distinguished guests, offered floral tributes to the statue of Lord Rajiv Lochan, praying for the state's prosperity and well-being.
Speaking on Rajim’s historical importance, the governor noted that it is home to several ancient temples, including Lord Rajiv Lochan Temple, Kuleshwar Mahadev, Ramchandra Pancheshwar Mahadev, Bhuteshwar Mahadev, and Someshwar Mahadev. He also mentioned the Panchkoshi Yatra, which encompasses sacred sites like Pateshwar, Champeshwar, Brahmaneshwar, Phanishwar, and Kopeshwar Mahadev, all of immense significance to devotees.
Governor Deka pointed out that this year’s Rajim Kumbh Kalpa holds special importance as it coincides with the grand Mahakumbh in Prayagraj. While Prayagraj is known for the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, Rajim is celebrated as the confluence of the Mahanadi, Parry, and Sondhur, earning it the title of 'Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh.'
Deka emphasized the long-standing tradition of religious tourism and fairs in Chhattisgarh, citing prominent sites like the Mahamaya Temple, Bamleshwari Mata, Danteshwari Mai, and Madaku Island as integral to the region’s cultural identity. He described fairs not merely as religious events but as essential mediums for social connection, fostering a sense of belonging and preserving traditions for future generations.
He expressed reverence for the saints, acknowledging their selfless dedication to humanity. He reiterated that Rajim Kumbh Kalpa serves as a beacon of spirituality, promoting social and cultural unity. With millions of devotees and tourists participating, the event spreads messages of brotherhood and peace across society.
The governor further stated that the fair plays a crucial role in boosting religious tourism in Chhattisgarh. He urged all attendees to safeguard cultural traditions and pass them on to future generations, as heritage forms the foundation of identity.
The event was graced by Dandi Swami Dr. Indubavanand Ji Maharaj, Mahant Sadhvi Pragya Bharti Ji Maharaj, Balayogeshwar Balayogi Rambalak Das Ji Maharaj and officials.
