CG: Prioritize overall development of wards: CM

RAIPUR,INDIA: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has urged Mayors and councilors of all urban bodies in the state to prioritize the overall development of their wards. He emphasized the need to improve public amenities so that every citizen can easily access basic facilities. He also encouraged councilors to maintain close contact with residents and ensure prompt resolution of their issues.

Sai highlighted the BJP's historic victory in the urban body elections, attributing it to the people's trust in the government. He credited the success to the dedication of leaders and grassroots workers and stressed the importance of fulfilling promises outlined in the Atal Vishwas letter. He stated that mayors and councilors play a crucial role in meeting public expectations, as they are directly connected to the people.

He also called on urban body representatives to ensure cleanliness, electricity, water, and other essential services in their areas. He advised them to stay engaged with the public, identify issues firsthand, and address them swiftly to enhance administrative efficiency and accelerate development.

Sai met with the newly elected mayors and councilors of Durg and Dhamtari Municipal Corporations at his residence, congratulating them on their victory and encouraging them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication. He emphasized that elected representatives now shoulder a significant responsibility for the state's development.

The Chief Minister noted that the BJP’s sweeping victory in urban body elections has strengthened the "triple engine" governance model in the state, further accelerating developmental initiatives. The BJP secured victories in all 10 municipal corporations, 35 out of 49 municipal councils, and 81 out of 114 Nagar Panchayats, marking a historic performance.

Sai also met the newly elected mayors of Raipur and Bilaspur Municipal Corporations, Meenal Choubey and Pooja Vidhani, respectively. He congratulated them and extended his best wishes for their tenure. He emphasized that the people have placed their confidence in the BJP and the triple engine government, urging both mayors to work diligently for the comprehensive development of their cities.

The event was attended by BJP National Vice President Saroj Pandey and BJP Mahila Morcha State President Shalini Rajput, among other dignitaries.
