Need for Social Entrepreneurs for a Vikasit Bharat: VC Prof. Chakrawal

Two-Day International Seminar Organized at Central University of Jharkhand, Ranchi

BILASPUR,CG,INDIA: The esteemed Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (a Central University), Prof. Alok Kumar Chakrawal, participated as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of a two-day international seminar held at the Central University of Jharkhand. Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya has been accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC. The seminar was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand, Prof. Kshiti Bhushan Das.  The Department of Commerce and Financial Studies at the Central University of Jharkhand organized the international seminar on March 21-22, 2025, with the theme “India’s Journey Towards a Vikasit Bharat 2047: Exploring Synergies Between Social Equity, Economic Growth, and Global Interdependence for a Sustainable and Resilient Future."  

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Chakrawal emphasized the crucial role of education and educators in building a Vikasit Bharat by 2047. He highlighted that teachers must prepare students to understand their social responsibilities through education and actively contribute to nation-building. He stressed the importance of fostering social entrepreneurship among the youth for the progress of the nation. Integrating India’s traditional knowledge system into education while focusing on skill development aligned with global needs is essential, Professor Charkrawal said.  

Prof. Chakrawal further stated that achieving the goal of a Vikasit Bharat by 2047 requires focusing on key aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, including Experiential learning, skill, and entrepreneurship development, education in the mother tongue, employment-oriented learning, internationalization of education, and industry-oriented curriculum. He also mentioned that initiatives like "Swavalambi Chhattisgarh" (Self-reliant Chhattisgarh) at Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya are designed to connect students with social responsibilities.  

The seminar witnessed participation from distinguished scholars from India and abroad.  The distinguished scholars included Prof. Munim Barai, Graduate School of Management, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU), Japan, and Prof. Vallippan Raju, Senior Research Director, MAHSA University, Malaysia who delivered the Keynote addresses. Other eminent participants included Prof. Bheemaiah Matri, Director, IIM Nagpur, Ajay Kumar, Director, CCL, Indrajit Yadav, Director, MSME, and Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Delhi School of Economics. The Convener of the International Seminar was Dr. Bateshwar Singh, Head, Department of Commerce and Financial Studies, Central University of Jharkhand.
