RAIPUR,CG,INDIA: On the occasion of Utkal Day, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid homage to the great freedom fighter and visionary Barrister Madhusudan Das by garlanding his statue at Mahila Police Station Chowk (Madhusudan Das Chowk) in Raipur.
Extending his greetings to the Utkal Samaj across Chhattisgarh and the nation, Chief Minister Sai emphasized that Utkal Day is not just a celebration of Odisha’s formation but a symbol of struggle, self-respect, and cultural unity. He acknowledged the significant presence of the Odia community in Chhattisgarh, highlighting their contribution to the state’s social harmony and diversity.
Recalling the historic formation of Odisha on April 1, 1936, Chief Minister Sai paid tribute to the relentless efforts of Barrister Madhusudan Das, whose dedication and vision led to the establishment of a separate state for the Odia-speaking people. He also underscored the deep-rooted cultural and social ties between Chhattisgarh and Odisha, noting that the rice used in the sacred offerings to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath continues to be sourced from Chhattisgarh, particularly from the Devbhog region. The tradition stands as a testament to the religious and cultural connection between the two states.
The Chief Minister prayed to Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the people of Chhattisgarh, expressing confidence that the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath will always remain with the state.
