Ensure high quality infrastructures: Sao

RAIPUR,CG(INDIA): Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Sao reviewed the progress of departmental works on Friday, focusing on roads, bridges, buildings, and road repairs across the state. The review meeting, held at Naveen Vishram Bhawan in Raipur, involved detailed discussions on ensuring timely completion and quality construction.

Sao emphasized that the works should be sustainable and of high quality, with repairs being minimized. He instructed officials to take their duties seriously and warned that surprise inspections could be conducted at any time.

Sao called for special attention to road repairs, ensuring they do not require frequent rework. He urged the department to continue working positively and efficiently, with better planning and organization. He also instructed senior officials to monitor the progress weekly and ensure that construction works are completed on time. Contractors were asked to adhere to deadlines, and engineers were encouraged to apply their skills for quicker, high-quality results.

The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed road works under various Central Government schemes in the Bastar division and urged better coordination with security forces to speed up construction in remote areas. He also directed senior officials to expedite recruitment processes and resolve court cases in the department's offices.

Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Secretary of the Public Works Department, stressed the importance of quality in building construction, design, and future usability. He urged timely submission of estimates for new projects and prioritized works to remove road black spots and improve junctions. Additionally, Dr. Singh instructed the Chief Engineer’s office to assess the completion of works promised by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai to include them in the upcoming budget.

Sao reviewed the progress of works included in the departmental budget for 2024-25 and set priorities for projects in the 2025-26 budget, particularly those costing over five crore rupees. The review also covered issues related to land acquisition, utility shifting, and forest land use.
