JAGDALPUR,CG(INDIA): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasizing the importance of reaching set targets on priority, urged officials to ensure that the benefits of welfare programs reach every last beneficiary without delay.
He was addressing a divisional review meeting that was convened on Wednesday at the Bastar Collectorate Hall ‘Prerna’.The session focused on evaluating the progress of various government schemes and ensuring their effective implementation.
Sai expressed his vision of a transforming Bastar, no longer seen as a backward region but emerging as a gateway to a new, progressive India. He reiterated that schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Aadhaar enrolment, housing, and electrification are not just governmental efforts but pathways to restoring dignity and security to the people. Highlighting youth as the greatest asset of Bastar, he stated that the aim is not merely to equip them with skills but to instill self-respect and confidence. He declared a new vision for Bastar – “light in every home, employment in every hand, and faith in every heart” – as a foundation for Chhattisgarh’s development journey.
The Chief Minister noted with satisfaction the enthusiasm and commitment of the administrative team in Bastar, including district collectors and police superintendents. He underscored that the government, with support from the Centre, is vigorously pursuing the goal of eradicating Naxalism by March 31, 2026. Acknowledging the role of security forces, he praised their courage and strategic efforts.
On the education front, Sai called for a simplified and timely caste certificate process to ensure children face no obstacles at the start of the academic session. He also raised concerns about potential disease outbreaks in the upcoming summer and monsoon seasons, directing that medical supplies and services be ensured at health centers and CSCs.
The meeting also addressed the need to enhance employment opportunities through industrial policies that prioritize Scheduled Castes, women, and local youth. Progress on infrastructure, including Jagdalpur Airport and national highways, was reviewed, with instructions to accelerate pending work.
Connectivity issues were also discussed, particularly mobile network problems in tribal and remote areas. An action plan for installing mobile towers was proposed, along with improvements to the rural transport system through regular bus services.
Cultural programs like the Bastar Olympics and Pandum were cited as evidence of growing public engagement and distancing from extremist ideologies. Shri Sai urged officials to show administrative efficiency balanced with human sensitivity and to respect public representatives.
Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma remarked that Bastar is undergoing a visible transformation. He stressed timely completion of construction projects before the onset of rains. Bastar Division Commissioner Shri Doman Singh shared updates on development works, including significant progress in Ayushman Bharat and Aadhaar enrolment. The Chief Minister directed that a special campaign be launched to achieve 100% saturation in these schemes, ensuring that no eligible person is left behind.
