MAHASAMUND,CG(INDIA): The Mineral Department of Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh continues its stringent action against illegal sand mining activities in the district. Acting on a complaint, the mineral investigation team conducted a raid on Wednesday at the Mahanadi river near Senkapat village in Mahasamund tehsil.
During the operation, the team seized a chain-mounted machine being used for illegal sand excavation. An unauthorized ramp constructed along the riverbank to facilitate sand transportation was also demolished to prevent further illegal activity along this route.
The machine was found in an unclaimed condition and has been placed under the custody of Tumgaon Police Station for further legal proceedings.
