RAIPUR,CG(INDIA): The Chhattisgarh government has launched the Inclusive Livelihood Scheme aimed at reducing poverty in selected areas of the state. The initiative will cover five development blocks in Jashpur and Kabirdham districts, targeting 5,000 extremely poor families over the next three years. The goal is to help these families achieve a stable income through skill training, customized support plans, and access to government schemes.
It focuses on creating permanent livelihood opportunities that will support the long-term social and economic progress of marginalized communities.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission (BIHAN) and BRAC International for this three-year project. Present at the event were key officials, including Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development, Smriti Sharan; Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development, Bhim Singh; Mission Director Jayashree Jain; and BRAC International Country Head, Shweta S. Banerjee. Women from special backward tribal groups also participated.
The primary aim of the scheme is to empower these families financially, enhance their earning capacity, and promote better food habits.
