RAIPUR,CG(INDIA): The Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries is playing a key role in the progress of the state. With trade, business, and industry growing rapidly, Chhattisgarh has become one of the leading states in GST collection. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that as Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to make India a developed nation by 2047, everyone must work together to contribute toward building a developed Chhattisgarh.
He shared these thoughts while speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the new office-bearers of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce and Industries at the Shaheed Memorial Auditorium in Raipur. Satish Thurani took oath as the Chairman, Ajay Bhasin as General Secretary, Nikesh Baradia as Treasurer, along with other officials.
The Chief Minister noted that the Chamber has been active for the past 62 years and currently represents around 12 lakh traders. For the first time in the organization's history, the elections were conducted unanimously, which he said reflects the unity within the Chamber. He encouraged the organization to continue maintaining this spirit of togetherness.
He also highlighted several pro-business decisions taken by the state government. These include increasing the e-way bill limit from ₹50,000 to ₹1 lakh, reducing VAT by ₹1 per litre on petrol, and waiving VAT liability of up to ₹25,000 in cases pending for over 10 years. This VAT relief is benefiting around 40,000 traders across the state.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to supporting small traders and fostering a business-friendly environment in Chhattisgarh.
