KORBA,CG(INDIA): In a major move against corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a patwari red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a farmer.
The incident took place in Dullapur village under the Pasan police station limits. A local farmer, Sumar Singh, had approached Patwari Sultan Singh Banjare to get his land details updated online. Instead of doing the official work legally, the patwari allegedly demanded ₹10,000 in cash as a bribe.
Refusing to pay the bribe, the farmer reported the matter to the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the bureau set up a trap. As planned, the farmer handed over the marked currency to the patwari, and the ACB team caught him red-handed at the scene.
Legal proceedings are currently underway against the accused patwari.
