RAIPUR, CG (INDIA): In a major push to accelerate industrial growth in Chhattisgarh, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Jindal Group and the state government for a large-scale industrial project involving a proposed investment of ₹75,000 crore.
The agreement outlines plans for the development of an integrated steel plant along with major power generation infrastructure, aimed at boosting the state's industrial capacity and energy production.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, along with Rajat Kumar, Secretary and Coordinator of the State Investment Promotion Board, and other senior officials from the Commerce and Industry Department. Representatives from the industrial sector were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Tandon of the Jindal Group reaffirmed the company’s commitment to developing industrial infrastructure in the region. He emphasized that the project will not only produce high-quality steel but also generate substantial employment opportunities and contribute to the socio-economic development of surrounding communities.
The state government hailed the agreement as a landmark initiative that aligns with its vision of transforming Chhattisgarh into a global industrial hub. Officials noted that the planned developments would significantly enhance the state’s economic landscape and improve the quality of life for its residents.
Construction work related to the steel and power projects is expected to commence soon, marking the beginning of a new phase in Chhattisgarh’s industrial journey.
