RAIPUR: The Government of Chhattisgarh till Friday has procured 69,783 metric tons of paddy from 25,493 registered farmers on minimum support price. The paddy procurement had begun on November 1 and the procurement of 69,783 metric tons of paddy from 25,493 registered farmers on minimum support price till Friday, an official communication said. Food Secretary Topeshwar Verma said that an amount of Rs 283.07 crore was released to the farmers through Bank linking arrangement, as payment. On Saturday, 12,577 tokens were released for the procurement centres while 1,428 tokens were released online through ‘Tunhan Hath’ application. Verma said in the current kharif marketing year the procurement target of paddy is 110 lakh metric tons. The state has registered 25.92 lakh farmers out of which 1.86 lakh are new farmers. There are 2497 procurement centres. The minimum support price of paddy has been fixed at Rs 2040 per quintal and the support price of Grade A paddy is Rs 2060 per quintal.
