CG NEWS: Extend benefits of PM Swanidhi Yojana on priority: Soni

RAIPUR: Raipur Member of Parliament Sunil Soni on Wednesday asked officials to ensure the benefits of Prime Minister Swanidhi Yojana are implemented on priority.

He was holding the Raipur District Level Consultative Committee and Review Committee (Special DLRC) at the Red Cross meeting room in the Collectorate premises.

He said the scheme provides financial help to small traders, especially street vendors, so that they can be able to carry on their business. All the banks should give the benefit of the scheme to the maximum number of beneficiaries.

Soni asked bank officials to hold camps and also personally reach out to the beneficiaries and give information about the scheme, and motivate them to take benefits. If they face any difficulty in the process of filling the form it should be solved.

Do not reject the applications received through the Municipal Corporation, rather contact or meet the beneficiaries personally and get the deficiencies eliminated, he added.

He reviewed the different central government schemes and its implementation.

Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure said that the banking correspondent should reach out to the street vendors in the evening. Explain to them about the scheme and get them to fill the form if agreed. If they have got a loan of Rs 10,000 in the first phase, encourage them to take advantage of the second phase.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mayank Chaturvedi said that there is a technical problem in doing net-banking and digital transactions, banks should solve it and help the beneficiaries.

Lead District Manager, Lead Bank Amit Ranjan said that the total deposits in 536 bank branches in the district are 73,095 crores. Loan amount Loan-deposit ratio is 118.13 percent which is highest among all the districts of Chhattisgarh. Under Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, till March 31, 2023, around 10,641 cases have been approved and 10,081 cases have been distributed.
