RAIPUR: The respective District Collector and District Magistrate on Monday have imposed Section 144 in the districts to maintain peace and order after the declaration of poll schedule by Election Commission of India.
The election process has been rolled out with the declaration of dates for the poll process for Assembly General Elections 2023.
The District Magistrates have imposed Section 144 across the respective districts to deter anti-social elements from creating obstacles in peaceful and fair conduct of elections. It is also to remove the environment of fear and terror. The voters should exercise their franchise fearlessly in a fear-free environment.
The order states that Section 144 in the district from October 09. It has been ordered that no person should possess any kind of weapon, sword, axe, spear, stick, will not go out in public place with knife, axe, trident, and other sharp objects, or any other weapon. A person who is on government duty will be able to wear weapons while on duty.
