Big step for lift, escalator safety in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR,CG (INDIA): The Chhattisgarh government has made a major decision to improve the safety of lifts and escalators across the state. From now on, registration, renewal, and inspection of all lifts and escalators will be mandatory. The goal is to ensure the protection of people's lives and property by enforcing high safety standards. This move is expected to reduce accidents and also protect businesses from legal troubles.

Taking the initiative, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has directed that all services related to lifts and escalators be brought under the Public Service Guarantee Act. This means that registration, renewal, and inspection must be completed within 30 days. If services are not provided on time, the responsible officers will be held accountable. This change will help industries, builders, and businesses receive timely services without unnecessary delays.

He emphasized that the safety and well-being of the public are a top priority for his government. He said it is essential to ensure that lifts and escalators are operated safely, and bringing these services under the Public Service Guarantee Act will help build public trust and provide quick, reliable service to all.

The Chief Electrical Inspector has urged all builders, commercial establishments, and lift operators to strictly follow these new rules. They were asked to maintain high safety standards when operating lifts and escalators. Following these rules will not only make lifts safer but will also reduce insurance costs and lower business risks.
