CG NEWS: 1.47 lakh banners removed

RAIPUR: Office of Chief Electoral Officer Assembly General Election-2023 stated that till Wednesday after the model code of conduct was made effective 1.47 lakh banners, posters and wall writings were removed.

It includes more than 1.14 lakh public properties and 33,127 from private properties.

The Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that a total of 1.91 lakh cases have been identified under the Defacement of Property Act by all the collectors and district election officers. These include 1.39 lakh cases related to public property and 51,960 cases related to private property.

The process of removing them is going on at a fast pace by the district administration in all the districts. Under the Act, 11,039 cases of removal of banners, posters, wall writing etc. from government and private properties in Durg district, 1,478 in Sukma, 5,200 in Gariaband, 2,913 in Bemetara, 1,223 in Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, 13,578 in Balod, 2,461 actions have been taken in Jashpur, 373 in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur and 9,881 in Surguja.

Under the Property Distortion Act, a total of 7,977 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, 6,052 in Raigarh, 2,172 in Surajpur, 2,016 in Kanker, 4,305 in Bilaspur, 491 in Dantewada, 6,336 in Mahasamund, 4,634 in Janjgir-Champa, 488 in Bastar, 9,106 in Korba. , 9,262 in Kondagaon, 1,468 in Kabirdham, 642 in Bijapur, 1,401 in Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, 1,350 in Rajnandgaon, 7,432 in Balrampur-Ramanujganj, 2,384 in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, 615 in Korea, 634 in Narayanpur, 7,789 in Mungeli, Sakti 5,245 and 5,464 in Dhamtari.
