RAIPUR: In a twist and turns in the political circle, Amit Jogi, son of Ajit Jogi, first Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh filed his nomination papers from Patan Assembly constituency, from where the present Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel represents as MLA.
Monday was the last day for filing nomination papers.
Bharatiya Janata Party candidate is Vijay Baghel, Member of Parliament from Durg, a close relative of Bhupesh Baghel, but arch rivals in politics.
Amit Jogi had filed the nomination under Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (Jogi) banner, which was launched by his late father and former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is contesting from Patan for the seventh time, while Amit Jogi will contest from Patan in Durg district for the first time.
