Dy CM for renovation of Bhoramdeo Temple

RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma on Wednesday convened a meeting at his residence office to discuss the renovation of Bhoramdeo Temple with officials from the Department of Culture and Archaeology, along with distinguished citizens and priests from Kabirdham district. The meeting focused on enhancing facilities for devotees and the overall development of the temple complex.

Sharma emphasized the immediate need to address the issue of water leakage during the rainy season. He instructed the Culture Department officials to create video documentation of the temple's history to educate devotees about its significance. Additionally, he directed the completion of a 3D design and Lidar survey to better understand the temple's structure and needs. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that all ongoing construction and restoration work should be completed before the upcoming Bhoramdev Mahotsav.

The meeting was attended by Director of Culture and Archaeology Department, Vivek Acharya, other officials including local representatives were present.

Several proposals were discussed to improve facilities for devotees, such as constructing a shed, relocating the watchman's quarters, and building a VIP room behind the temple. Shri Sharma also suggested removing the wall between the temple's rear and the VIP room, installing a grill and gate, and preserving the traditional forms of Bhairav Temple, Chamunda Mata Temple, and Hanuman Temple.

The Deputy Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure the maintenance of surrounding trees through the Forest Department, if necessary. He recommended submitting proposals under the Prasad Scheme of the Tourism Department for the beautification of the temple's exterior. These proposals include road widening, parking arrangements near the main gate, operating e-rickshaws, pond beautification, and creating murals related to Shiva stories around the boundary wall.

Further discussions were held on constructing a paved road from Bhoramdeo Temple to Chherki Mahal-Madwa Mahal, installing solar lights and CCTV cameras, and improving the temple's drainage system and flooring with sandstones. Since the area falls under the Archaeology Department, all work will be conducted with its approval.
