RAIPUR,CG,BHARAT: To prevent crime during the Navratri festival, police have heightened vigilance and are conducting surprise checks. In this context, a raid was carried out within the Mauhda Para police station limits, of capital city Raipur ,where an Ashok Leyland vehicle with registration number CG/04/PV/9088 was stopped for inspection on Monday
During the check, the police team discovered approximately 928 kilograms of silver stored in 51 cartons. The occupant, Sunny Kumar Singh, a resident of D.D. Nagar, Raipur, was questioned but failed to provide satisfactory answers or valid documentation.
As a result, the GST department was called in for further action. The GST team subsequently seized the entire consignment of silver weighing 928 kilograms, valued at crores of rupees, and detained the suspect.
