BIJAPUR,CG,INDIA: Despite ongoing government and security force campaigns, Naxalite activities continue in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-affected districts. In Bijapur district, 19 Naxalites have surrendered, abandoning the path of violence.
These surrendered Naxalites collectively carried a reward of ₹29 lakh. As part of the government's rehabilitation program, each received an incentive of ₹25,000.
The surrender includes members of the Pamed Area Committee, Naxalite PLGA Battalion, PPCM, ACM, AOB Division, and militia-level operatives. They formally surrendered before DIG CRPF Devendra Singh Negi and Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav.
