Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh Reena Baba Saheb Kangale on Wednesday underlined the need for an effective vigilance system with better coordination between the central agencies and the state for the upcoming assembly elections.
She was holding a meeting with all enforcement agencies of the central and state government.
The enforcement agencies were asked to assess the sensitivity, prepare a vulnerability map, and prepare information about the seizures made in the last 6 months and monitor by mapping the sensitivity of the election expenditure.
Enforcement agencies were asked to keep special vigil on railway stations, trucks, buses, commercial vehicles as well as airports. It was informed in the meeting that on the basis of seizures made in the last elections, monitoring would be done in the districts.
The police should be deployed for flying squads and static surveillance teams including check posts at necessary places.
The Excise Department and other departments were instructed to install CCTV cameras at the border check posts. The Income Tax Department was directed to activate the Intelligence Unit while monitoring the cash.
The state and central GST agencies were asked to stop the illegal distribution of cloth, sarees and other tempting items. The Narcotics Control Bureau, State Police Force and other relevant authorities were directed to work in coordination with each other and to keep a special vigil on private and commercial vehicles.
