RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh State Assembly paid obituary to Vidya Ratan Bhasin, MLA from Vaishali Nagar (Bhilai) and Bhanu Pratap Singh, former cabinet minister of the undivided Madhya Pradesh on the first day of the monsoon session on Tuesday.
Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant made an obituary reference on Vidya Ratan Bhasin, MLA from Vaishali Nagar (Bhilai) and Bhanu Pratap Singh, former cabinet minister of the undivided Madhya Pradesh recalling their respective contributions in the public sphere. He said Bhasin dedicated his life to public service, his departure is an irreparable loss for all.
Paying tribute to former MLA Vidya Ratan Bhasin, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that Bhasin had a simple and easy-going personality. He always worked for the welfare of common people and for the protection of public interest. He would actively raise the issues and grievances of the area in the assembly. Despite suffering from a serious illness, he was soft-spoken. He would remain calm and focused even during the most difficult times.
Baghel said Bhanupratap Singh, a member of the Raigarh royal family and former cabinet minister, said that Bhanupratap Singh was the younger brother of Raja Chakradhar Singh. Singh actively worked for the promotion of art and culture. His contribution in public interest and social sectors has been commendable. Being the chairman of Chakradhar Samaroh, he provided a platform to the artists from across the state and the country to display their artistic talents in Raigarh.
Besides being actively involved in the field of politics, sports and arts, he continued to work diligently for issues related to public interest.
