BILASPUR: Two children have died due to drowning in water logging of soil (Murum) mine in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.
Two children from Tikrapara and Lingiadih drowned in the Murum mine between Bahtarai-Bijaur in Sarkanda area.
The police reached the spot on receipt of information after which an offence was registered at Sarkanda police station area.
The police said that Abhishek, the 12-year-old son of Ravi Ahirwar, who lives in Tikrapara, came to Lingiadih on Sunday evening. From here he went out for a walk with 12-year-old Ishaan, son of Dilip Ahirwar. The relatives came to know that both the boys had drowned in the Murum mine between Bahtarai and Bijaur. The relatives pulled out both the children from the deep water and took them to Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur.
Both were declared dead. The post-mortem was done on Monday. Police investigation is underway.
