CG NEWS: Every health care staff should know life-saving skills

RAIPUR: Department of Anaesthesiology and pain medicine Pt J. N. M. Medical College Raipur of Chhattisgarh is conducting 13th life support course, from August 24. It will conclude on August 26th.

It is a certified course through American Heart Association (AHA) in collaboration with academy of traumatology.

Director of Medical Education, Dr Vishnu Dutt, Dean medical college Dr Tripti Nagria, Medical Superintendent Ambedkar hospital Dr S. B. S. Netam will be present.

Dr Pratibha Jain Shah, HOD Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine said the course is not only to train doctors but also nurses and paramedical staff, fire brigade and police staff.

The trainee will learn how to perform proper CPR and will learn all life-saving skills out of hospital as well as in hospital cardiac arrest situations, she said.

Also trainees will learn about heart attack, stroke (Paralysis) and other time sensitive emergency situations. Instructors will teach how to read ECG, how to work as a team to save life without going panic, she added.
