CG NEWS: Chhattisgarh moves toward universal health care: Minister

* Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister T S Singh Deo administering oath to the departmental officers to donate organise and tissues.

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Health, Family Welfare Minister T.S. Singh Deo on Friday said the state is moving ahead towards universal health care. The health and wellness centres, Hamar Lab and Hamar Clinic are doing good work.

He was addressing the departmental review meeting held in a private hotel in Raipur. The officers on health, National Health Mission, State Nodal Agency and CGMSC and Chief Medical and Health Officers of all the districts, Civil Surgeons, District Program Managers and Divisional Joint Directors of Health Services including secretaries were present.

Highlighting the schemes, he said the schemes are providing people free medical consultation, investigation, treatment and medicines. The state government’s share in the Ayushman scheme is approaching 80 percent. In the first six months of current fiscal, free treatment worth Rs 900 crore has been provided.

He further said people’s trust in government hospitals and the number of patients is increasing. In the last five years, achievements in maternal mortality rate and infant mortality rate have been made.

He asked the officials to rationalize the purchase of medical equipment purchased from different items for the hospitals, so that the necessary equipment and machines can be distributed properly.

He asked to expedite the payment of claim amount of hospitals under Dr. Khoochand Baghel Health Assistance Scheme. He asked to test 100% samples of suspected Corona patients only through RTPCR method. He asked all the districts to work by setting targets for the next three months.

During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister administered the oath to the departmental officers to donate organs and tissues. Health department officials also took an oath to inspire their family members, friends and relatives for it.
