RAIPUR, CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday honoured 04 brave boys and girls of the state for their courageous and brave work on the occasion of ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ at the State Guest House Pahuna in the capital city Raipur.
Chief Minister announced that the state government would give Rs 50,000 each to the four brave boys and girls.
On the day of Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced that December 26 will be celebrated as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ in memory of the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas, the sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
Praising the courageous work of the four boys and girls, he said that without caring for their own lives, these children have saved the lives of their family members and friends. Sai appreciated the social and intellectual work being done by Chhattisgarh Civil Society.
Patron of Chhattisgarh Civil Society, Dr. Purnendu Saxena said that it is fortune as a member Society are able to honor the brave children for the second consecutive year. Children have saved the lives of their loved ones by showing their intelligence, activeness and courage. Surely other children will also be inspired by their indomitable courage.
Sikh Granthi Amrik Singh gave the biographical introduction of those Sahibzadas in whose memory Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated. He said that the community are proud that the gurus have taught martyrdom and even today they are determined to protect the religion.
Four brave boys and girls were honored by Chief Minister are 15-year-old Amar Jyoti Zahire, resident of Korba district, saved his friend from drowning during a picnic without caring for his life. For this courageous act of Amar, he was awarded Sahibzada Ajit Singh Bravery Award.
15-year-old Chhaya Vishwakarma, resident of Mahasamund district, saved her sister's life from a mad dog with her wisdom. She was awarded the Sahibzada Jujhar Singh Gallantry Award.
13-year-old Janvi Rajput, resident of Kurud in Dhamtari district, showed courage and saved the life of her 5-year-old brother who was electrocuted and was awarded the Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Gallantry Award.
12 year old Bhameshwari Nirmalkar of Dhamtari district showed indomitable courage and saved two girls from drowning in the pond and was awarded the Sahibzada Fateh Singh Gallantry Award.
