Raipur, Chhattisgarh: Eight youth from Chhattisgarh will be part of the team from India to participate in the World Youth Festival to be organized in Sochi city of Russia from March 1 to 7.

They met Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday at his office in the Assembly complex. Beltara MLA Sushant Shukla was also present.

The Chief Minister called it a big achievement for Chhattisgarh and gave his blessings and good wishes to the youth.

He said, “You are getting a proud opportunity to represent the state as well as your country. All of you are going there from the country of Swami Vivekananda. You are the representative of India, show a glimpse of our great cultural tradition there.”

Sai said that all should carry within you the fragrance of the country as well as Chhattisgarh, so that the people of Russia know more about the state. They should be eager to come here. He said that they should share their thoughts about the religious, cultural and rich historical heritage of India with their colleagues from all the countries including Russia participating in the Youth Festival.

The World Youth Festival is being organized in Sochi city of Russia from March 1 to March 7, 2024, in which about 20,000 youth from 193 countries will participate. A group of youth from India is going to Russia to participate in the Youth Festival, in which 8 youth from Chhattisgarh have also been selected. The delegation had Peshiram Jaiswal, Nitesh Sahu, Siddharth Shukla, Udayan Sharma, Ritesh Kalwani, Aviral Thakur, Udit Singh and Khushi Singh.
