Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India: Chhattisgarh is a state progressing in the field of science and technology along with its cultural and historical heritage. The need is to discuss innovation in the field of science and technology, said Director, NIT, Raipur Prof N V Ramana Rao.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day 19th Chhattisgarh Young Scientists Conference, organized at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium under the joint aegis of National Institute of Technology Raipur and Chhattisgarh Science and Technology Council, on Monday.
He said there is a need to promote new ideas and research and take further steps in the subject. Through the Chhattisgarh Young Scientists Conference, the young generation will move forward in the field of science and technology. Today, the celebration is in the context of ‘Developed India 2047’, which is an important guideline for the future of the country by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Director General of Chhattisgarh Science and Technology Council, Raipur S.S. Bajaj said the programme is a good platform for young scientists. Along with research, it is also important that whatever product one makes or innovation, must get a patent for it. This is the era of competition.
He said if an invention is not registered as patent, then if someone else gets it patented then the benefit which could have been availed by your organization will be availed by someone else. The patent work is done free of cost by the institute.
Special guest and V.Y. Hospital Director Dr. Purnendu Saxena said new things keep getting created only because of human curiosity and needs. Today all are talking about innovation and about developed India. It is happening due to demographic changes. The challenges that are coming. Scientists can face all these challenges well. Vice Chancellor and Director IIIT, Raipur Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sinha also addressed the program.
