Sukma, Chhattisgarh, India: Active Naxalite commander Nagesh alias Erra, carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh, has surrendered before Sukma SP Kiran Chavan. Naxalite commander Nagesh was active for a long time. Police have achieved great success on the Naxal front.

Sukma SP Kiran Chavan said that Nagesh alias Erra (age 38 years) is a resident of Jagargunda. At present he was active as the commander of Company No. 2 of PLGA battalion of Naxalites. 76 soldiers were martyred in the attack in Tadmetla of Sukma in 2010, Nagesh was also involved in the attack.

Chavan said that Nagesh was fed up with the hollow ideology of the Naxalites, after which he created a spirit of trust, development and security under the Naxalism Eradication Policy and the ‘Puna Narkom Campaign’ being run by the Sukma Police.
