CG NEWS: NSO holds training for Annual Survey of Industries

Raipur,Chhattisgarh,INDIA: The National Statistical Office, Regional Office, Raipur organised a training camp at Bhakta Mata Karma Complex, New Rajendra Nagar, Raipur for industrial units to self-compile the returns on the web portal.

The National Statistical Office (Field Operations Division), Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Government of India every year conducts the Annual Survey of Industries.

The prescribed returns are filled by the selected industrial units and submitted to the National Statistical Office.

Altaf Hussain Haji, Deputy Director General, National Statistical Office, Raipur presided over.

Haji said that according to the Collection of Statistics Act 2008 and the rules made under it, the Annual Industry Survey is conducted every year by the National Statistical Office. All the selected industrial units are allotted user ID and password on the web portal. The units themselves have to compile and submit the returns within the prescribed time limit. He called upon the industrial units to make maximum efforts to self-compile the returns.

The representatives of various industrial units of Raipur Vandana Ispat, Heera Cement, Heera Ispat, Rotocast Industries, Navbharat Press, Vijay Transmission, Greenmac Technology, Tarni Steel, Rama Udyog, Shri Ram Iron Steel, Shubh Honda, Vaswani Industries and Har Chand Rai. Harimal and others participated. The Statistical Officers from Raipur office, guided the selected units to complete the returns.

The Annual Survey of Industries, data related to capital, turnover, value addition, fuel and raw materials and input-output and other details of industrial units is collected. Industrial data related to employment, number of working days and social security benefits are also collected. The data obtained is used for estimation of national income and estimation of Gross Domestic Product.
