38 candidates to test their waters in Raipur LS

RAIPUR,CG: The electors of Raipur Lok Sabha constituency in Chhattisgarh will go for polls on May 7 from 7.00 am and will have to choose one from the total 38 candidates covering 9 assembly constituencies. There are 2,385 polling stations. 23,75,379 voters. 11,86,504 are male voters and there are 11,88,571 women voters. 304 are third gender voters. 3 ballot units will be used in each polling station.

Micro observers have been appointed after selecting a total of 245 polling stations in the district. Webcasting has been done after selecting 954 polling stations. Women have been given the responsibility of 857 polling stations in Raipur. Women will operate 203 polling stations of Raipur North Assembly. Similarly, 7 polling stations have been selected for the disabled. 35 polling stations will be operated by youth workers. 35 model polling stations have been prepared.

As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, ramps, drinking water, toilets, medical facilities and other arrangements have been made as minimum basic facilities in all the polling stations.

The Raipur district administration will provide vehicle facilities to reach the polling stations. Voters above 80 years of age will have the facility of vehicles. Apart from this, disabled voters will also get the facility of vehicles to go to and from home.
