CG NEWS: Four generations participate in festival of democracy

RAIPUR,CG: On Tuesday, in the third phase of polling in Chhattisgarh in capital city Raipur, four generations of the Jain family came together to vote in the City North Assembly constituency.

Under the leadership of 84-year-old Babulal Jain, the senior most member of the family, the entire family went to B.P. Pujari School polling centre under North Assembly constituency early in the morning to vote.

He had even skipped breakfast and had arrived to cast their vote with the family members.

After entering the main door, he got his BP-sugar check-up. The Jain family waited for their chance in the queue and were happy that instead of standing in queue for a long period, the polling station had a bench-chair for seating. The arrangements for women and men were made separate.

They said that drinking water arrangement was also made nearby so that they did not have to go cover a longer distance.

These four generations include Babulal Jain (84), Gendadevi Jain (82), Vijay Jain (64), Sadhna Jain (60), Rakesh Jain (59), Atul Jain (58), Sarita Jain (57), Rajesh Jain age (55), Varsha Jain age (54), Manish Jain (54), Manju Jain (50), Rupesh Jain (50), Preeti Jain (48), Deepa Jain (43), Arihant Jain (34), Sneha Jain (30), Anant Jain (30), Naman Jain (29), Aditi Jain (26), Sajal Jain (26), Ujjwal Jain (24), Rashi Jain (23), Akshay Jain (18), and Tanay Jain (18) voted together.

Babulal Jain said that he is happy to participate in this festival of democracy. The Election Commission has made good arrangements. Manish Jain said, “I have always been voting but this time I saw that waiting rooms were made for the voters and arrangements for drinking water were made.”

“I thank the District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and the Election Commission for getting a bench to sit instead of standing in a queue,” he added.
