Naxalites giving up guns is a matter of joy

Raipur/Bijapur,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday said it is a matter of joy that Naxalites are giving up guns and joining the mainstream.

Through a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) he expressed his happiness over the surrender of 30 Naxalites in Bijapur district. He expressed about working for the betterment of the surrendered Naxalites.

He tweeted, “Our government is fighting in every possible way and at every level to protect us from the dark shadow of Maoism. The common tribal people of Bastar, who have been trapped in the vicious cycle of Maoism, are now trying to come back into the mainstream, which is a welcome move.”

“Our government is ready for the rehabilitation of those tribes having left Naxalism and joined the mainstream,” he adds.

For the development of tribal areas, the BJP government led by Vishnu Deo Sai had launched the scheme “Niyad Nellanar Yojana” meaning “Your Good Village”. Through the scheme, the government is providing all the basic facilities in the village. The Naxalites are also giving up the guns after being influenced by the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the government. Out of the thirty Naxalites who surrendered, 9 Naxalites carried a reward of about Rs 39 lakh. So far 180 Naxalites have been arrested in 2024. 76 Naxalites have surrendered.
