A cleanliness program was organized by the officers and employees of the office under Altaf Hussain Haji, Deputy Director General of NSO, at Telibandha Pond (Marine Drive).

The  Swachhta Pakhwada is being celebrated from June 16 to 30, 2024 under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Altaf Hussain Haji said that apart from his personal life and professional life, every person has some social responsibilities due to living in the society, one of which is that we take care of the environment around us. Maintain cleanliness and offer whatever we can to the society to protect the environment.

He said that the earth's ecosystem is becoming disorganized due to various types of pollution around us. Therefore, sanitation systems should be developed for holistic sanitation focusing on solid and liquid waste management.

Haji stressed the need to encourage effective and appropriate technologies for ecologically safe and sustainable sanitation. For it, he called for reducing the use of plastic/polythene in daily life, planting trees, keeping the air clean and controlling various types of pollutants.
