Education is basic mantra of progress: CM

RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday said education is the basic mantra of progress. Quality education should be provided to children. Ensure that discipline is maintained in schools.

He was holding the review meeting of the School Education Department at his official residence office on Monday.

He underlined the need that Development Block Education Officers should go to the field level and monitor the quality of teaching and learning in schools. The Collector should also visit two to three schools every month and inspect.

He said it will be the effort of the state government to ensure that children get a better school building and good education system there.

Expressing strong displeasure over the slow pace of renovation work of schools, the Chief Minister said that laxity will not be tolerated in the renovation work of dilapidated schools. Collectors should themselves monitor the strength of school buildings.

He said under the School Jatan Yojana, which was started for the renovation of dilapidated schools, the renovation works should be examined and the works should be completed. During the review, the Chief Minister directed to present the proposal for rationalization of teachers and schools in the next cabinet meeting. He said that this will help in removing the shortage of teachers in schools. Chief Minister’s Secretary Rahul Bhagat and Dr. Basavaraju S., School Education Secretary Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were also present.

During the rainy season, children should be asked to plant trees in schools where there are four walls. Only children should take care of the trees. Trees of species like Neem, Gulmohar, Karanj etc. should be planted.

A training policy should be prepared to give training to teachers on a rotation basis, so that all teachers can get training. The parents of children should also be connected with schools. Statewide Mega-PTM is being organized in the government schools of Chhattisgarh on August 6.

Mentors will be appointed under RTE to prevent drop out.

Skilling of children should be as per the needs of the industries.
