BIJAPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal on Monday underlined that all the efforts will be made to make Bastar division malaria free. The two minor girls had died in the last two days at Bijapur due to Malaria.
Minister was on a visit to Bijapur and holding a detailed review of the work of the health department of Bastar division including Bijapur district.
Former former minister Mahesh Gagda, Additional Chief Secretary Health Manoj Kumar, Pingua and other senior officials were present.
Minister asked officials to ensure 100% malaria testing in all residential schools, potakabins, hostels, ashrams, Eklavya schools including Navodaya and all residential institutions under the Malaria-free Chhattisgarh campaign.
He said in positive cases, provide better treatment to the students in the hospital. Their parents are advised to create awareness to complete all the malaria doses.
He said that it is essential to prevent widespread spread of malaria, diarrhea and water-borne diseases during the rainy season. No water logging in residential schools, regular and mandatory use of mosquito nets along with spraying of medicines should be done. He made a call to all CMHOs, Civil Surgeons and DPMs of the division to implement all necessary measures to prevent malaria, diarrhea and seasonal diseases.
Jaiswal said to bring promptness in malaria investigation and reporting, microscopes will be arranged in all the block headquarters of Bastar division. It would help for early detection and reporting. Malaria testing activities and treatment will be monitored at the state level through the portal.
