RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday launched the “Ek Ped Mahtari Ke Naam” mega campaign in Chhattisgarh.
The campaign is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative for environmental conservation and protection.
Sai urged citizens to join this significant movement to save nature. He flagged off the 'Ek Ped Mahtari Ke Naam Rath'. Commerce and Industries and Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan and Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal were also present.
The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of 94.3 My FM and emphasized the importance of reaching as many people as possible with this innovative initiative. “The campaign is being started to ensure that the initiative reaches the maximum number of people. Everyone should participate in this campaign and plant a tree.
“We will plant trees as tribute to the women power in Dantewada, Ratanpur, Dongargarh, Chandrapur, and Kudargarh—the sacred lands of our female deities. I urge all of you to be a part of this great movement to save nature. Your collective efforts will prove to be a milestone,” said Sai.
Chief Minister also distributed seeds of various plant varieties to school children and encouraged them to participate in tree plantation.
