Bijapur students embark on first-ever flight experience

RAIPUR,CG: At the initiative of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, 100 students from Bijapur experienced their first-ever flight journey as part of a study trip to the capital, Raipur.

The students, from classes 9th, 10th, and 11th, travelled by air from Jagdalpur to Raipur, marking a momentous occasion for these bright young minds, many of whom aspire to become IAS, IPS officers, doctors, engineers, and teachers.

On Independence Day, these students had the opportunity to meet Chief Minister Sai at his residence. They eagerly shared their experiences, with Class 11th student Dimple Thakur expressing the thrill of her first airplane journey. “I had always dreamed of visiting Raipur, but I never imagined it would be by plane. This experience has motivated me to aim high and work hard to achieve my dreams,” Dimple said.

Chief Minister Sai encouraged the students to pursue their goals with dedication and hard work, wishing them success in their future endeavors. During their visit to Raipur, the students explored notable sites such as Muktangan, Jungle Safari, Ram Mandir, and participated in the state-level Independence Day celebration at the Police Parade Ground.

Addressing the students, Sai emphasized the importance of education and informed them about the New Education Policy 2020, which integrates employment opportunities with education. He encouraged them to consider diverse fields like farming and horticulture, citing examples of educated IAS officers who have found success in agriculture. He also highlighted the role of teachers as nation builders who shape future IAS and IPS officers.

The Chief Minister engaged the students in a discussion about the ‘Niyad Nellanar’ Scheme, which aims to connect remote areas like Bijapur with mainstream development through improved infrastructure and basic facilities. He also spoke about the establishment of security camps in Maoist-affected areas, with 32 camps already set up and 29 more planned.

He concluded by urging the students and also encouraged them to maintain cleanliness, reflecting the values of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Mission. The students expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister, with Class 10th student Nisha Yadav thanking him for fulfilling the promise of air travel.
