RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai officially launched National Deworming Day by administering anti-worm medicine to girl students at J R Dani School in Raipur. The event commenced with the Chief Minister giving Albendazole tablets to the schoolgirls, marking the beginning of the campaign.
Addressing the gathering, Sai emphasized the importance of running National Deworming Day as a widespread campaign. He stated that this initiative is crucial for keeping children healthy, which in turn contributes significantly to the progress of the nation. Expressing his delight at being among the students, he highlighted the remarkable achievements of today’s daughters across various fields, calling them the future of the nation.
Explaining the significance of National Deworming Day, the Chief Minister noted that worm infections are a common issue affecting children aged 1-19 years, leading to various health problems. He urged citizens and parents to actively participate in the campaign by ensuring that their children receive deworming medicine, thereby contributing to the success of the initiative.
Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, who was also present at the event, stressed that today's children are the future of the nation. He emphasized that no child in the state, aged 1-19 years, should be deprived of deworming medicine. Jaiswal noted that, as in previous years, the national deworming campaign is being conducted. He assured that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure every child receives the medication.
Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh provided further details, stating that the district has set a target to provide deworming medicine to 9,70,687 children. He encouraged collective efforts to achieve this goal, emphasizing the importance of giving free government-provided deworming medicine to children aged 1-19 years to protect them from worm infections.
