Minister inaugurates online registration facility for Pharmacy Council

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal on Wednesday inaugurated the online registration facility of the Chhattisgarh State Pharmacy Council.

The new registration process for the Pharmacy Council has now gone online. The pharmacy students and pharmacists will no longer need to visit the Pharmacy Council office in Raipur for registration or renewal. Applicants will now only need to visit the council office once for the verification of documents after submitting their applications online.

Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the shift to an online registration system will greatly ease the burden on applicants, eliminating the need for repeated visits to the council office. He emphasized the crucial role of pharmacists, describing them as an important link between doctors and patients, bearing the responsibility for determining the correct medication and dosage.

Until now, pharmacy graduates from various districts across the state had to travel to the Raipur-based council office for registration. Similarly, registered pharmacists were required to visit Raipur for renewals. With the introduction of the online registration and renewal system, all pharmacy students and registered pharmacists in the state will benefit from the new convenience. Currently, around 33,300 pharmacists are registered in the state, actively engaged in running retail and wholesale drug stores, operating drug manufacturing units, and serving as educators in various pharmacy institutions.
