RAIPUR,CG: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to the forest martyrs at Rajiv Smriti Van in the state capital on the occasion of National Forest Martyrs Day on Wednesday. He unveiled the 'Forest Martyrs Memorial' in their honour. Sai, along with all those present, observed a two-minute silence, honouring the supreme sacrifice of the forest martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, Sai expressed that today is a day filled with emotion as we remember the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives while protecting forests, natural resources, and wildlife. He stated that their sacrifice serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental conservation and our responsibilities towards safeguarding it.
Chief Minister Sai, Forest Minister Kashyap, and Sports Minister Verma planted saplings in memory of their fathers. The 20th National Forest Martyrs Day was observed at Rajiv Smriti Van in Raipur in honour of the forest martyrs.
Sports Minister Tankram Verma, MLA Purandar Mishra, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Head of Forest Forces) V. Sreenivasa Rao, Satish Mishra, President of the All India Forest Officers Federation, Chairman Digvijay Singh, and a large number of forest personnel were also present.
